The STATE TNGDA has decided to participate in the All India Medical Strike against the Central Government by staging a Dharna at the entrance of Govt Hospital, on 25.06.12.
We demand the Central Government
1. To withdraw NCHRH Bill 2011(National Commission for Human Resources in Health)
which will be comprised of the nominees of the Central Govt and not by elected members of the Medical Profession. The Association believes that the Bill is an encroachment into the Democratic functioning of Medical council, Pharmacy council and Dental council.
2. To stop BRHC course(Bachellor of Rural Health Care)
This kind of short term Medical degree courses, will prove to be a dangerous experiment on the lives of poor, illiterate village population. If this course is introduced, only half baked bare foot doctors will be produced by the Govt., endangering the lives of Rural people. Introduction of such a course for the rural people amounts to treating the Rural community as second class citizens.
3. To stop Nation Level Common Entrance Test
In the absence of a common +2 syllabus throughout the country, a National common test based on CBSE syllabus is a grave injustice for common people especially for students from villages.
4. To stop the Proposal for Exit Examinations.
MBBS degree is issued only for students passing out of Medical colleges recognized by MCI and concerned universities.
Exit Examination to practice Medicine after obtaining a degree is a clear mockery of our own system of Medical Education and Govt. administration
5. To withdraw clinical Establishment Bill 2010
This bill paves way for the harassment of Medical profession directly and of the common people indirectly due to escalation of cost of treatment. This bill will lead to duplication of existing acts such as Indian Medical Council Act 1956, and several other laws.
6. WE DEMAND A SUITABLE AND STRONG QUACKERY ERADICATION LAW
